Program Manager, Scope 3 Advocacy

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management.
  • Experience in sustainability, energy, circular economy, or climate policy issues, collaborating with industry associations and sustainability stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in climate and energy science, standards and policy, including developing thought leadership positions, managing climate partnerships and coalitions or working with governmental stakeholders and similar institutions to advance progress on clean energy and climate change within APAC.
  • Experience in global sustainability with knowledge of the strategies and priorities within APAC.
  • Experience in influencing and collaborating across organizations to drive new programs.
  • Experience with written and verbal communication across executive leadership team, peers, managers, and junior staff.
  • Experience with corporate emissions and greenhouse gas protocol (GHGP).

The Global Sustainability team enables Google to build a more sustainable future for everyone by driving strategy and solutions. We drive the development and implementation of Google’s global sustainability strategy to further empower action, ensure alignment and prioritization, identify leadership opportunities, and mitigate risks. We drive sustainability strategy and programs on carbon, circular economy, water, product integration, reporting, and employee engagement, while serving as a sustainability leadership advocate internally and externally.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own advocacy strategy for reducing Google’s Scope 3 emissions in priority APAC markets, and drive alignment with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Execute strategy, lead in-market advocacy campaigns, and develop new partnerships to accelerate progress towards Google’s Scope 3 reduction goals and broader ecosystem transformation.
  • Develop and advance policies and standards that enable emissions reductions throughout Google’s value chain in priority APAC markets.
  • Oversee research and thought leadership efforts that support greater transparency and understanding of Google’s decarbonization goals and efforts across its value chain.
  • Oversee projects manage key advocacy campaign deliverables with internal and external stakeholders.
