Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
 - 8 years of experience in product design or UX.
 - Experience with interactive and visual design.
 - Experience in layout and composition.
 - Experience with brand expression and style.
 - Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).
 
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with design systems, including abstract thinking about second order effects of choices at the system level
 - Experience with visual design for software products.
 - Experience leading large-scale creative collaboration sprints and workshops.
 - Excellent creative coding, interaction design, illustration, motion design, and iconography skills.

As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.Responsibilities
- Explore new visual language and over-arching story for the Material Design system and design specific components and subsystems.
 - Define systems for brand expression in product, and establish and document visual systems for color, typography, shape, layout etc.
 - Draw example screens showing elements of the design system in action.
 - Collaborate with design teams across Google to help them implement Material Design in their products.
 - Collaborate effectively with interaction and motion designers, engineering, research, product, and writing within Google Design Platform to ship a functioning system.
