Senior UX Designer, Future of AI, Envisioning Studio

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in product design or UX.
  • Experience bringing generative AI-powered products to market.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex cross-functional organization.

  • Knowledge of Figma’s design tool.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and collaboration skills.

You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products.

As an Interaction Designer, you'll apply user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, working with design partners to evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative products.

As part of the Technology and Society group the Envisioning Studio aims to imagine the possibilities of technologies to benefit people and societies.

In this role, you will explore the future by bringing together artists, storytellers, and creative thinkers with technologists, philosophers, policy thinkers, and community members. You will partner closely with Google Deepmind, Google Labs, YouTube, LearnX, and many more organizations across Alphabet. For US Candidates: The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$231,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design of next-generation AI creativity and learning tools, utilize vibe coding and rapid prototyping to establish new design systems and interaction models across the organization.
  • Lead major design initiatives that challenge industry best practices, influence high-level decision making and shape long-term product roadmaps through breakthrough visionary solutions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and external experts to transform emerging AI research into tangible high-impact product surfaces and functional prototypes.
  • Integrate insights and deep listening exercises with practitioner communities to ensure product features are grounded in real-world needs and deliver measurable impact.
  • Operate across multiple product areas, often adopting a PM mindset to drive complex large-scale projects from initial concept to shipped prototypes that influence business strategy.
