DISP Security Officer

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in customer-facing roles including managing executive stakeholders and delivering IT technical implementations, transformation programs, or related initiatives.
  • Experience in supporting enterprise customers in cloud professional services organizations, IT consulting, or program management organizations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certification in IRAP, ISO27001 Lead Auditor, CISSP, CISM, CRISC qualifications, or similar.
  • ASIS Physical Security Professional certification.
  • Experience in coordinating or assessing security zones, IRAP, or HCF assessments.

About the job

As a Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) Security Officer for Google Australia, you will be part of a team of security experts that will maintain a comprehensive security program that complies with the Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF) and other relevant Australian government security obligations as required by legislation or regulation to ensure Google’s ongoing compliance in the Australian market. You will hold the role of a Security Officer (SO) for Google Australia’s DISP membership.

In this role, you will conduct assurance and compliance activities for our information and systems, personnel, governance, and facilities against the Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF) and other Australian Government security standards, such as the Information Security Manual (ISM) and the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF). You will contribute to the operation of Google Australia’s DISP membership managing security clearances, briefings and conduct security training. You will recommend controls and evaluate facilities and systems according to the DSPF, ISM, Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) guidelines, the PSPF, and other contractual controls in key agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the role of DISP Security Officer for a large headcount, supporting the maintenance of our DISP obligations.
  • Conduct and/or lead the uplift of Google Australia’s DISP membership in particular around physical and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to align with customer requirements.
  • Support the review of security controls and the development of assurance and compliance documentation.
  • Engage directly with DISP and the government more broadly to build rapport and shape the future of Google Australia’s DISP activities.
  • Maintain contemporary knowledge of frameworks such as DSPF and DISP, ISM, PSPF and the wider regulatory landscape, while also maintaining knowledge on emerging threats and security technology.
