Content Programming Manager, YouTube

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media Studies, Education, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience managing educational content lifecycles, editorial calendars, or digital programming within the video or online media sector.
  • Experience leading projects across departments such as production, marketing, product management, and external research centers.
  • Experience analyzing viewership data and market trends to inform programming strategies and leading presentations.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Education focusing on Technology, Innovation, Human Development, or a related field.
  • Experience collaborating with high-profile academic institutions to integrate child development research into commercial content.
  • Ability to involve or contribute to youth or educator advisory committees, summits, or professional organizations.

About the job

As a Programming Manager for YouTube Youth, you will support the management and growth of our programming efforts to support kids, teens, teachers and parents worldwide, spotlighting relevant, engaging and enriching content. You will cover a wide range of initiatives including analyzing key content trends in the kids and teens media landscape, addressing teacher curation needs, developing new strategic programming opportunities/features for creators, executing editorial programs by region and measuring/analyzing performance metrics. You will help determine editorial strategy, lead reporting efforts and engaged analyses, work with cross-functional teams on feature prioritization and external communications. You will work directly with partner managers, product managers, engineers, marketing, legal, researchers and external experts to leverage data to create positive and engaging user experiences.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $113,000-$161,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Leverage data and determine relevant analytics to understand the audience and drive programming strategies and growth.
  • Lead content performance in-depth search to identify opportunities for growth and efficiency, and serve as a liaison between the Content Strategy and Operations functions within the Programming team.
  • Become an expert in YouTube videos, channels, kids, teens, and teacher viewing behavior, and learning and developmental content.
  • Ensure the global execution of core YouTube Youth programming initiatives.
