Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience working in a camera algorithm development technical environment, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or relevant technical field practical experience.
  • 3 years of work experience in Camera System Development (3A, ISP, IQ).
  • Experience with Camera Image and Video Quality.
  • Experience with Embedded systems/firmware development.

In this role, you will support Pixel phones and continue to raise the bar of quality and innovation with Pixel cameras. Image design for Pixel is a complex system with hardware platforms, software, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). You will utilize hardware knowledge to design features and functions of image systems to make Android cameras pleasant and useful in versatile products. You will work with various stakeholders, including Hardware Engineers, System Software, Chip Developers, and Algorithm Developers to make it happen.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Google Pixel camera tuning and image quality evaluations.
  • Implement, optimize and integrate the auto exposure algorithm onto target device platforms.
  • Collaborate across teams to enable our solution across projects, including environment sensors to assist camera.
  • Work with the architecture, software, tuning, tool teams to develop solutions to achieve quality targets and commercialize real products.
  • Develop and implement automated testing and validation for Pixel Camera 3A, encompassing exposure control tuning, image and video quality, software performance, power consumption, and memory usage.
