Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of visual design experience in product design or UX/UI design.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in UX design (e.g. wireframing, visual UI design, and prototyping) and driving outcomes in typical design situations with minimal guidance.
  • Experience using AI tools in design to code workflows such as AI Studio, Cursor, Figma Model Context Protocol (MCP) etc or shipping fully realized, highly-polished features.
  • Experience using agile methodologies to make design teams more effective.
  • Ability to show attention-to-detail and consistent follow-through on complex cross-functional programs.

Our Visual Designers weave space, typography, color, and iconography to help people successfully navigate our products, ensuring they are beautiful and accessible. You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, to leverage user insights and create industry-leading products.

As a Visual Designer, you will rely on user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution. You will collaborate with your design partners to leverage and evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative, inspired products that people love to use.

As a part of the Consumer Payments UX team, you will contribute to designing a cross-surface payment experience for Google users, working across Google Wallet on multiple platforms, including web, Android, Chrome, MyAccount as well as checkout experiences in Chrome across global markets. You will create simple and safe payment features like card tokenization, account linking, and e-Wallets. You will also design non-payments journeys in Wallet, like adding transit cards, using a mobile drivers license at an airport, and setting up digital car keys and collaborate with partners in APAC and Payments Platform.

In this role, you will also leverage the latest AI trends and generative tooling, whether you are prototyping next-generation, AI-driven financial experiences or using AI-assisted development workflows to accelerate your output, you will ensure our team remains on the front lines of innovation.Whether it is paying online with Autofill, using tap and pay in stores, or using the Google Pay app, the Payments team at Google is focused on making payments simple, seamless, and secure. In addition to consumer payment technologies, the Payments team also powers the money movement between Google and its consumers and businesses.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$231,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Test end-to-end concepts for iteration, research, and validation, conceiving and delivering innovative and engaging prototypes that bring features to life while exploring experiences across a portfolio of features and products within the application.
  • Identify emerging needs, develop interaction design best practices, and contribute to pattern documentation, while maintaining high standards for design quality by incorporating user feedback and research into design iterations.
  • Partner with team members to promote standards and integrate changes into guidelines, collaborating effectively across functional teams to transform complex challenges into elegant, user-centered solutions and fostering a system-wide design mindset throughout the team.
  • Contribute to design system growth by defining, building, and applying scalable, reusable patterns across all our platforms.
