Minimum qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience managing a global network planning or acquisition function at a senior leadership level.
  • Experience leading geographically dispersed teams.
  • Experience working in organizational settings (e.g., shared accountability, matrix structures).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of process optimization, program management, and cross-functional influence at a leadership level.
  • Deep understanding of network technologies and the ability to engage in technical deep dives into design specifications of Google's network.
  • Ability to lead and scale the organization by implementing best practices, identifying process gaps, and aligning across teams to scale horizontal processes.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute with a sense of urgency, delivering services to meet Google's evolving needs.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to represent the organization at all levels, including executive leadership, industry conferences, and government relations.

Google's line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.

As the Senior Director, Global Leader for Global Network Acquisitions, you will lead the strategy, vision, and execution for Google's worldwide network infrastructure acquisition and delivery. This encompasses all facets of network infrastructure, from terrestrial fiber and managed services to colocation facilities. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring Google's network remains robust, scalable, and cost-effective to support the ever-growing demands of our users and services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams across Engineering, Policy, Legal, Regulatory, Tax, and Finance to drive strategic alignment and achieve Google's network infrastructure goals.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $310,000-$432,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Implement a long-term vision and strategic roadmap to ensure Google's network infrastructure remains a competitive advantage, supporting Google's current and future product offerings.
  • Collaborate with internal business and networking technical teams to identify and define the realm of possibility from a network topology standpoint over various timeframes, aligning network acquisitions with product roadmaps and technology developments.
  • Build strategic relationships with vendors, identify compelling opportunities for partnership or expansion, and determine specific solutions that meet commercial, technical, and timing requirements.
  • Lead complex partnerships in tandem with Google's legal, treasury, policy, and tax teams. Lead the teams responsible for identifying and managing agreements with vendors providing fiber, colocation, managed services and IP transit.
  • Articulate and advocate for Google's global network infrastructure strategy to internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership and industry forums.
