Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 3 years of experience in Computational Photography.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
- Experience with C++ and Android Camera.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
- Experience in GPU/DSP/TPU programming and optimization.
- Experience in delivering imaging system products.
- Experience in computational photography, computational optics, computer vision, or graphics.
- Ability to have attention to detail and high standards for photography quality.

In this role, you will collaborate with the most talented engineers, computational photography experts, and product designers on the Pixel Camera team. You will lead product launches, define strategies, and ultimately shape the future of Pixel Camera Photography. You will pioneer advancements in computational photography to deliver unparalleled image quality, making a direct and profound impact on Pixel users worldwide.The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of algorithms and solutions for mobile imaging pipelines, including multi-frame burst processing, demosaicing, denoising, artifact reduction, HDR tone-mapping, and content-aware sharpening.
- Design and deliver end-to-end software-based imaging pipelines, optimized for Pixel devices, demonstrating strong software architecture skills.
- Apply excellent C++ programming skills and machine learning knowledge to computational photography challenges.
- Define image quality goals and tuning processes to support Pixel Camera launches.
- Align camera hardware specifications, calibration requirements, and deliverable plans with our Hardware team partners.
