Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years of experience driving outlook, strategy, and roadmap in APAC compensation and benefits for a multinational corporation with 5 years in a leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Expertise with compensation and benefits governance, policy, and philosophy.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills, including an understanding of when/why to flex.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze complex data.
  • Ability to make timely decisions and grow in an environment of ambiguity.
  • Attention to detail, with excellent problem solving and financial modeling skills.
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin, Korean and/or Japanese fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

The Google Compensation and Benefits (C&B) team sits within Google People Operations. As Director, APAC Compensation and Benefits, you will be a strategic leader and trusted advisor to the business. You will be responsible for leading a team of Compensation and Benefit Specialists who consult with and guide Google's business leaders on strategy, philosophy and programs. You will oversee a team of C&B professionals, along with a team of occupational health nurses. You will utilize thought leadership, working collaboratively with excellent communication, organization, business judgment skills, and the ability to consult with and influence business leaders. You will operate in a highly complex and ambiguous environment, and balance a myriad of tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of compensation and benefit professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Act as a leader in setting global and regional strategy for compensation and benefits in partnership with our Global Design and Delivery teams ensuring the right working models, information flow and cross-team resourcing is in place.
  • Interpret compensation data and analytics to proactively provide recommendations to the business on compensation levers to drive their talent strategy.
  • Financial oversight and management of our regional benefit budgets ensuring long-term financial sustainability to deliver world class programs to our employees.
  • Ensure compensation and benefit programs are equitably administered and compliant with recent legislative changes and aligned with Google’s outlook.
