Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
- Experience with edge computing, distributed systems or data center transformation.
- Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or a related field.
- Experience prospecting, and building and maintaining new customer relationships from scratch, with excitement for building out Greenfield territories.
- Experience developing scalable architectures using API management, microservice frameworks, and PaaS.
- Experience coding in one or more general purpose languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, C or C++).
- Experience managing global distributed teams on large scale programs.
- Ability to communicate in Dutch fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

As a Customer Engineer, you will work closely with the sales and pre-sales teams to offer and deliver distributed cloud solutions. In this role, you will lead the conversation on cutting edge cloud offers and driving decisions to align with Google Cloud services and delivery team innovation and capabilities.

Responsibilities
- Lead cloud offer creation and execution, drive customer adoption, and scale offers to the field once proven successful.
- Share in-depth expertise in distributed cloud solutions to support the technical relationship with customers, including technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and partnering directly with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption to Google Cloud.
- Serve as a technical advisor and person of contact for strategic customers and accounts with non-standard requests and innovation needs or partner organizations to deliver/manage high-quality technical solutions and services.
- Lead the scalability of existing solutions or create repeatable solutions (e.g., best practices recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, sample code) and ensure effective documentation of repeatable solutions.
- Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as required, acting as a public advocate for Google Cloud.
