Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, management consulting, or investment banking, or 5 years with advanced degree.
  • Experience in the consumer electronics, auto, OEMs, telecom, E-commerce/retail, apps, Ads, gaming, or technology industries.
  • Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across multiple levels of management.
  • Experience managing agreements or partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional partnership initiatives with a significant impact on business outcomes.
  • Understanding of content acquisition and distribution strategies.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and prioritize strategic partnership opportunities that align with business objectives.
  • Ability to operate with flexibility in a fluid, constantly evolving and collaborative environment, work effectively cross-functionally with all levels of management, and to secure favorable terms and building consensus.
  • Excellent investigative, communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills.

About the job

As a Strategic Partner Development Manager, you'll open doors with potential partners, lead exploratory discussions and evaluate/develop business opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, provide thought leadership and serve as a mentor to managers and associates. You are comfortable escalating and presenting business development strategies and key issues to senior management. You'll work closely with Google Product, Engineering, Legal and Sales teams on new product initiatives and key strategic relationships that support our online advertising business.

The Travel and Local Search team transforms how users explore the world and inspires action by connecting people with life-enhancing experiences. We drive growth by building delightful experiences that guide users from initial inspiration to decisive action. We collaborate across Search, deepen engagement in existing verticals, and create innovative cross-vertical experiences.

As Strategic Partner Development Lead, you are responsible for developing and managing partnerships with content partners to help the Google Search and Gemini team achieve its goal of powering inspirational experiences across Google. You will manage existing partnerships, drive new opportunities, negotiate agreements, resolve business issues, set up business processes, as needed. You bring strong relationship-building skills, proven experience in negotiating and closing strategic partnerships and renewals, ability to clarify and summarize complex issues and strong attention to detail. You also possess advanced investigative skills regarding contractual, technical and financial issues with partners and the ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$204,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the execution of strategic partnerships, identify and prioritize opportunities that drive significant business growth and competitive advantage.
  • Develop and cultivate deep relationships with key partners, serve as a trusted advisor and ensure alignment on strategic objectives.
  • Negotiate and structure complex partnership agreements, ensure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Oversee the integration and implementation of partnerships, collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Marketing, Legal) to ensure successful launch and ongoing operations.
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize partnership performance, identify areas for improvement and growth to achieve strategic goals.
