Technical Program Manager II, XR Demos, Platforms and Devices

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience in demo program management, including designing and delivering product demonstrations within the XR industry.
  • Experience with technical demo setup and troubleshooting, including flashing Android builds, sideloading apps, and utilizing Command-Line Interface (CLI) for device debugging and real-time problem resolution.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Familiarity with wired/wireless networking (setup, management, troubleshooting).
  • Ability to explain complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executives.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

As a part of the Android XR Demo Team, your aim is to deliver demo experiences to internal and external stakeholders. You will showcase how Android XR devices are an optimal form factor for the conversational Gemini Era with Multimodal AI, designed to power a suite of XR devices ranging from fully immersive headsets to everyday, AI glasses. You will bring these experiences to internal and external stakeholders at events, conferences, trade shows, partner meetings, press engagements and more.For decades, the computing revolution has reshaped our world driven by breakthroughs in compute, connectivity, mobile, and now, AI. Google's XR team is at the forefront of the next major leap – the convergence of AI and XR. This is more than just new devices – it's about reimagining how we interact with the world around us. We're building a future where lightweight XR devices pair with helpful AI to augment human intelligence, offering personalized, conversational, and contextually aware experiences.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000-$198,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Articulate the platform's value as a unified solution for devices.
  • Engage executive-level audiences using business acumen and communication skills, developing compelling demo narratives, scripts, and talking points while maintaining extreme confidentiality.
  • Lead technical "back of house" operations including device provisioning, setup, QA, real-time troubleshooting, and debugging; develop custom demo tools and solutions to ensure seamless, repeatable operations and backend management.
  • Create documentation for workflows, setup instructions, and best practices, advise on high-impact experiences by recommending stable builds/APKs and highlighting competitive differentiators and key functionalities.
  • Partner with teams to plan and execute XR events from conception to completion, ranging from 1:1 executive engagements to large-scale activations like Google I/O, managing all logistics, scope, and communications.
