Customer Engineer, Infrastructure Modernization, Google Cloud

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
  • Experience in any one of the following: cloud migration, data center migration, disaster recovery, virtualization, application/servers assessment/discovery.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with Kubernetes ecosystem, Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with Linux system administration or Enterprise applications.
  • Experience in architecting and implementing solutions on any public cloud as an enterprise architect or IT infrastructure consultant.
  • Knowledge of virtualization and networking concepts (e.g., Linux, hypervisors, network virtualization, open protocols, application acceleration and load balancing, DNS, virtual private networks) and their application to PaaS and IaaS technologies.
  • Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) concepts.

In this role, you will partner with technical Sales teams to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers. You will help prospective and existing customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud, develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve their business challenges, engage in proofs of concepts, and troubleshoot any technical questions and roadblocks. You will engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements, and present practical and useful solutions on Google Cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Solve customer and peer problems.
  • Manage the Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy from a technical perspective, design the strategy to transform the customers, identify key customer technical objections, and develop a strategy to resolve technical blockers.
  • Work with customers to demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations, and help the Account team to manage agreements from a technical perspective.
  • Recommend migration strategies, enterprise architectures, migration tools, and cloud infrastructure required to complete solutions using best practices on Google Cloud.
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as needed.
