Senior Silicon Product Manager, TPU Hardware

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 3 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, end-to-end, 0 to 1, etc.).
  • Experience managing and launching processing cores in mobile SoC.
  • Experience defining and launching ML compute in mobile devices.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with consumer hardware development life-cycles and Original Design Manufacturers (ODM)/Contract Manufacturers (CM) working models.
  • Experience in GPU or TPU subsystems, processor design, performance benchmarks, low-power design, semiconductors, electronics, SoC design or architecture, consumer electronics.
  • Experience with AI, ML, or Large Language models.
  • Familiarity with computing, connectivity, operating systems, software frameworks, software applications, and development life-cycles.
  • Excellent investigative, strategic and development insights and business acumen skills.
  • Excellent influencing, communication and people management skills to advocate initiatives internally, externally, as well as with executive management.

Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

We are looking for someone with deep technical and product management experience to define and help deliver AI compute in the form of Tensor processing units.

In this role you will help define ML hardware in collaboration with the silicon engineering team, compiler team and advanced research teams across the company as well as the device hardware/software groups. You will define an ML compute roadmap which will enable Pixel to bring to life key features that distinguish our first-party devices. We accomplish this with deep strategic and product insights rooted in silicon, software, systems and ML, which are all part of our full stack solution.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. $192000 - $279000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Define the product goal by creating a differentiated and compelling ML compute Silicon roadmap.
  • Influence, inspire, collaborate and influence a broad team across Architecture, Software, IC Design, Operations, Product Management and Advanced Research to set the bar for ML compute leadership on mobile devices.
  • Evaluate new ML models, AI-based applications and use cases, technologies and standards, and advocate for or against adoption based on silicon and system-level considerations, engaged landscape, cost, usefulness and helpfulness and more.
  • Co-work with marketing and legal for product launches enabled with Google Tensor.
