About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

As a New Product Introduction (NPI) Operations Program Manager for Google Home, you will be the primary Operations and Supply Chain interface to the Product Development and Engineering teams. You will lead a cross-functional team of professionals to ensure products are designed, built, and launched to Google standards using the JDM (Joint Design Manufacturer) engagement model.

In this role, you will move beyond traditional execution to become a strategic leader who manages partner accountability. You will be responsible for driving operations readiness, managing complex financial budgets (CapEx and Ramp Costs), and ensuring the JDM partner executes the manufacturing strategy from the Concept phase through to mass production. You will bridge the gap between Google’s strategic requirements and the partner’s execution capabilities, ensuring high quality, optimal cost, and on-time delivery.

The Google Home team focuses on hardware, software and services offerings for the home, ranging from thermostats to smart displays. The Home team
researches, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make
users’ homes more helpful. Our mission is the helpful home: to create a
home that cares for the people inside it and the world around it.

Responsibilities

  • Direct cross-functional teams and JDM partners through production ramps, enforce accountability and retain milestone approval authority.
  • Lead critical product development process gates (OK2PV, OK2Ship), and ensure all strict exit criteria are achieved.
  • Oversee the CapEx budget lifecycle and manage NPI ramp costs, including forecasting, tracking, and post-ramp actualization.
  • Validate factory readiness, approve capacity plans against production schedules, and resolve supply shortages while monitoring clear to build (CTB).
  • Proactively address schedule, cost, and quality risks, drive supply continuity and communicate strategic solutions to executives.
