Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or communications.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with social media and managing executive communications.
  • Understanding of the cloud computing landscape, with enough technical depth to communicate accordingly.
  • Ability to communicate with executives and leadership teams.
  • Excellent communications skills, with prior experience in internal or external communications.

The Google Cloud Corporate Communications team’s mission is to protect and grow Google Cloud’s reputation while inspiring people to understand and embrace our mission, business and people. We collaborate across the business to develop effective communications strategies for executive leaders that amplify our corporate narrative. We're a fun team that is always looking at innovative ways to tell our story to key audiences. This specific role is for Google Cloud’s Chief Product and Business Officer (CPBO), where you'll work directly with the CPBO’s office and cross-functional stakeholders to drive every aspect of the communications program.


In this role, as an integral member of Google Cloud’s Corporate Communications team, you will lead Google Cloud CPBO’s executive communications platform. Your role will directly impact the company’s external and internal reputation and you’ll have the opportunity to work with cross-functional partners on a variety of communications engagements. You will be a driven, poised, enthusiastic and organized team player with exceptional communications skills, great writing skills, strong executive presence, and you will posses the ability to collaborate with and influence others along with an understanding of the cloud and Artificial Intelligence (AI) industries.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000-$245,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead executive communications for the Google Cloud CPBO to drive greater visibility in the cloud and AI markets with a focus on external communications.
  • Strategize with and influence stakeholders to shape and prepare external speaking engagements (keynotes, conferences, podcasts, media interviews, etc.) that advance our business narrative external audiences.
  • Build and own working relationship with Chief of Staff, Executive Business Partner and HR lead to ensure alignment and coordinate with the broader Global Communications and Public Affairs (GCPA) team, Strategy and Operations, Policy, Partners, Marketing and the Customer Office.
  • Develop, write and edit communications including scripts, talking points, emails, briefing documents and more to ensure the right messages are being shared with the right audiences.
  • Maintain relationships with key reporters to help influence media coverage and manage external PR agency to support key moments.
