Field Sales Representative, Higher Education, Public Sector

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with quota-carrying cloud or software sales.
  • Experience working with the Texas public sector market including Higher Education accounts in Texas.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience selling Cloud solutions, infrastructure software, databases, analytic tools, or applications software across the public sector, aligning solutions to drive business outcomes.
  • Experience growing an existing customer base and acquiring new logos at scale, to increase spend and accelerate consumption business.
  • Experience working with, and leading, cross-functional teams and partners in implementations.
  • Experience with commercial and legal agreements, working with Procurement, Legal, and Business teams.
  • Experience working with customer engineers and customers technical leads to inventory software estate, define migration plans, and build migration business cases.
  • Experience cultivating C-level relationships and influencing executives.

The Google Public Sector (GPS) State, Local, and Education (SLED) mission is to support state and local government, as well as higher education, customers and partners to drive successful mission outcomes through the implementation of innovative, market-leading Google AI and Security technologies.

As a Field Sales Representative you will be focused on account growth, account management and new client acquisition. You will collaborate with extended teams to devise strategies to expand and acquire specific customers in the Higher Education market in Texas.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $114,000-$169,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary relationship owner and business generator for Higher Education accounts in Texas.
  • Drive new business opportunities, expand existing relationships, and manage the entire business cycle from needs assessment to successful implementation. 
  • Conduct in-depth consultations to understand customer challenges, crafting and presenting tailored solutions, negotiating agreements, and ensuring ongoing customer satisfaction. 
  • Leverage an understanding of Higher Education issues and opportunities to build trust and credibility, positioning our company as a partner for computing, AI ready campus, infrastructure modernizations, cloud technologies and AI enabled security.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including Technical and Industry Specialists, to ensure seamless delivery of our products and services, ultimately maximizing business generation and growth within assigned territory.
