Product Manager II, YouTube Discovery

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with product management.
  • Experience in consumer Machine Learning (ML) product launches.
  • Experience directing product improvements within machine learning, AI or recommendations products.
  • Experience with experiment design (e.g., counterfactuals, holdbacks, interpretation, etc.).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Generative AI program management (e.g., model quality, costing, responsibility, performance, etc.).
  • Experience with data science, quant analysis, or a related technical field.
  • Ability to communicate a product outlook, go-to-market strategy, and design discussions.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, with the ability to go deep on the data and generate novel insights to support your strategy.

YouTube Discovery’s objective is to improve the viewer experience at YouTube by helping users find, watch and enjoy videos.

As a Product Manager, you will lead the Discovery roadmap for Women. You will be responsible for setting the Women Discovery direction, strategy and roadmap and then executing successfully. You will be expected to deeply understand the user needs of this segment, generate data driven insights and combine with deep understanding of how ML/AI and recommendations work to propose novel directions for the team to pursue.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Define and advocate a compelling roadmap for Women Discovery, aligned with YouTube's overall strategy. Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy that addresses market opportunities, user needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Develop and maintain a prioritized product roadmap that balances short-term goals with long-term goals. Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch and iteration.
  • Commission and steer user research that generates insights that inform investments in Women Discovery.
  • Go deep on logs analysis and ML/recommendations effectiveness to find opportunities and evidence where we could address user needs from UX Researcher and address via our recommendations systems.
