Customer Engineer, Networking Specialist, Google Cloud (Chinese, English)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience in network engineering and networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF).
  • Experience with network security technologies (firewalls, VPN, intrusion detection/prevention systems).
  • Ability to communicate in English and Chinese fluently as this is a Customer-facing technical role to support the Greater China business.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in network engineering and networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF). Experience with cloud networking such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience in designing and implementing complex network infrastructure for distributed systems, while migrating application to the cloud.
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) or DevOps methodologies for managing and deploying IT infrastructure.
  • Experience in troubleshooting performance and connectivity issues, as well as network security principles, protocols.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.

In this role, you will partner with Technical Sales teams as a networking subject matter expert to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers. You will help prospective and existing customers and partners in understanding the power of Google Cloud and develop creative cloud solutions and architectures to solve their business issues, engage in proofs of concepts, and troubleshoot any technical questions and roadblocks. You will use your expertise and presentation skills to engage with customers in understanding their business and technical requirements, and present practical and useful solutions on Google Cloud. You will be working with networking protocols and design load balancing, content delivery networks (CDN), hybrid-cloud and domain name system (DNS) architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understanding customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.
  • Share storage and database expertise to support the technical relationship with customers, including technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and partnering directly with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption to Google Cloud.
  • Work with Google Cloud products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer and partner environments.
  • Utilize integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution on Google Cloud.
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as required, acting as a public advocate for Google Cloud.
