Senior Social Marketing Manager, Google Pixel Marketing

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 9 years of experience in consumer-facing social media marketing across traditional social media channels and newer social entrants and reporting.
  • 5 years of agency management experience.
  • 1 year of experience in people management.
  • Experience managing earned conversation on social media and in Public Relations (PR).
  • Experience working cross-functionally with various stakeholders and teams.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with global, regional, and local dynamics.
  • Consumer technology experience with an understanding of product positioning and marketing.
  • Understanding of social performance connects to brand marketing objectives and business KPIs.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fluid work environment.
  • Excellent investigative mindset with strong quantitative reasoning, creativity skills, attention to detail and creative judgement.
  • Excellent communication skills along with program management and organizational skills.

Social Marketers establish the foundation for integrating social into all Google user touch points -- from advertising campaigns to event marketing to customer service -- in a clear and consistent way. We collaborate cross-functionally with product marketing leads to help align earned awareness marketing with the product and business roadmap. You will use data-driven analysis and insights to improve campaign effectiveness and value to the business, as well as exemplary online advertising solutions across Google’s key marketing initiatives.

As the Senior Social Marketing Manager for Google Pixel you will set the direction for social media across the Pixel portfolio. Leading a team of social managers, you will oversee the development of campaigns across key channels including YouTube etc while preparing strategies for new platforms. In this role, you will advocate the brand and serve as the expert on executing our social strategy for every touchpoint, from major product launches and events to software updates and day-to-day editorial calendars. You will work cross-functionally with internal teams and external agencies to identify relevant marketing moments and create share-worthy content.

In this role, you will grow in ambiguity and can navigate a fluid, rapidly changing environment with resourcefulness. You are a multitasker who balances workload with an attention to detail, constantly looking for ways to scale and streamline internal processes.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $171,000-$254,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Pixel social team to deliver social campaigns. Develop the social strategy to further enhance our approach and operational in becoming a Social First organization. Partner with Platforms and Devices (P&D) social leadership to scale this goal.
  • Develop and manage editorial content and calendars across YouTube etc. Create and maintain project trackers for launches and campaigns.
  • Lead the planning and launch phases for two new social channels.
  • Brief agencies on upcoming topics and priorities, delivering creative feedback based on brand guidelines, creative strategy, and any input from partners or internal stakeholders.
  • Manage approvals for social assets and toolkits, working with internal creative, Product Marketing Manager (PMMs), legal, partners, and marketing leads to collect feedback and secure approval by launch dates.
