Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other relevant engineering discipline or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of experience as a Product leader, driving elements of the product development lifecycle (e.g., product vision, go-to-market strategy, driving requirements, and product launch).
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience motivating others at all levels by creating a shared sense of outlook and purpose.
- Experience delivering successfully within time sensitive timelines.
- Experience delivering complex projects, with the ability to take initiative and have solid outcomes.
- Ability to balance detailed, technical guidance with big picture strategy, enabling teams to deliver products that are effective and also creating new ways to approach problems.
- Ability to collaborate across organizations and product areas to get things done and comfort with organizational complexity.
About the job
As Principal Product Manager, you will drive the future of AI in Google Photos by leading our AI and LLM product strategy. You will chart the path for Photos on AI innovation and ensure we’re building at the Gemini frontier. Specifically, you will own the agentic experience in Google Photos, enabling all teams to leverage Gemini and Photos LLM-powered understanding to build better experiences, and partner across Google. You will manage a small team of Product Managers and working closely with executive partners in Google DeepMind (GDM), Gemini, Search, and Platforms and Devices (P&D) to ship transformative AI features.
In this role, you will utilize innovation, creativity, outlook, as well as the ability to partner with the Engineering team to develop the right technical solution and delightful user experience. You will interact and partner with other Directors and Vice Presidents from across Google, including Google DeepMind, Search, and from within Platforms and Devices. You will use AI and LLM expertise, and understanding of the infrastructure and critical user journey’s. You will stay up to date on the latest models.
Google Photos is a photo sharing and storage service developed by Google. Photos is one of the most sought after products at Google and is looking for both client-side (web and mobile), with server-side (search, storage, serving) and machine intelligence (learning, computer vision) Software Engineers. We are dedicated to making Google experiences centered around the user.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $272,000-$383,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Be responsible for defining and driving the future of AI within Google Photos by creating and leading the AI product outlook.
- Own the agentic experience within the Photos product.
- Manage a small team of product managers, guiding their work and developing their skills
- Collaborate with executive leaders, including Directors and Vice Presidents, from various teams across Google such as Google DeepMind (GDM), Search, and Platforms and Devices (P&D).
- Stay at the forefront of AI innovation, particularly with large language models (LLMs), and ensuring that Google Photos is building with the latest technology.
