Director, Games, Play Partnerships EMEA

Minimum qualifications:

  • 15 years of experience in General Management, Operations or Strategy roles where you are managing a team, building business, and managing relationships with public and private entities
  • Experience in Partnerships, dealing with partners and cross-functional teams
  • Experience discussing agreements with partners
  • Experience in the Games sector (e.g. mobile gaming industry)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in the development, sales, or distribution of mobile games at a leading market provider
  • Deep understanding of mobile games market, standards, business models, sales channels, and competitive landscape
  • Strong attention to detail, highly entrepreneurial, creative, open-minded, persistent, highly collaborative and passion for and understanding of Google products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex business or technical concepts externally
  • Excellent people skills to formulate and articulate contractual, technical, financial, and value points with partners and internal Google teams

About the job

This is a unique opportunity to play a significant role in growing and evolving the EMEA games developer ecosystem. As the Director of EMEA Games, you will lead a team who cultivate and grow partnerships with many of the world’s largest mobile games developers from across the EMEA region. Your team’s focus is on helping developers to build successful businesses using the Android platform and Google Play. You will grow a portfolio of Android games and work closely with the Regional EMEA Play MD and the Play global Games vertical leads - Product and Partnerships - to identify EMEA partners’ product/features priorities, build, and deliver a robust growth strategy to ensure accelerated business performance for your partners and successful adoption of our product and platform innovations. In addition, you will act as the trusted partner for the Global Head of Games Partnership and for the Play Games GM, sharing key insights, helping them identify areas that need more alignment, and actively leaning on them to unblock teams and drive business velocity.

The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive partnership strategy and relationship management with the mobile game ecosystem and key game developers across EMEA.
  • Identify emerging opportunities, market developments and challenges in the EMEA gaming ecosystem, and develop strategic recommendations and plans.
  • Develop and execute plans to help developers build game experience and quality, platform innovation, and partner’s business successes.
  • Provide consultations to key partners’ game business based on analysis of partner metrics, performance, best practices, and strategic priorities.
  • Provide actionable insights to shape product and commercial big bets, and drive impactful collaboration with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, marketing, payments, etc.) to grow the Play ecosystem.
