Product Manager, Dataproc

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of product management experience creating product roadmaps from conception to launch, driving product goals, defining go-to-market strategy, and leading design discussions.
  • 5 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
  • Experience with relevant technical stacks and Google Cloud Data Analytics offerings (e.g., Predictive Analytics, Hadoop/Spark Data lakes).

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in Systems Architecture or Technology Strategy role.
  • Experience working on developer tools or open source projects.
  • Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark), project involvement, committer-ship.
  • Ability to drive results in collaborative, cross-functional environments with minimal oversight.

We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

Dataproc is a fully managed and scalable service for running Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Presto, and 30+ open source tools and frameworks.

Our mission is to build the easiest-to-use open source analytics platform for enterprises through exceptional security, and innovations such as serverless execution, and seamless integrations with the best of Google Cloud (BigQuery, Vertex AI, Dataplex).

Customers leverage Dataproc open source processing engines, including Spark, to generate insights from their large amount of structured and unstructured data.

As a Product Manager, you will analyze the market trends, learn about customer tests, define strategy/roadmap to meet their needs, launch capabilities, and help them adopt these capabilities, while leading the competitive, open source, and customer innovation perspective to inform the product direction.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $227,000-$320,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Drive the new set of innovations for Cloud Dataproc, powering Open Source Analytics at scale on Google Cloud.
  • Work closely with customers, field and partners to address unmet need.
  • Partner with business development and Go-To-Market teams to build growth strategies.
  • Partner with engineering, research and key stakeholder teams to align roadmap and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
