Software Engineer, Exploration and Refinements Quality

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems ,or related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., C++, Python, Java, Javascript) or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience with data structure or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing.
  • Ability to communicate in English in order to communicate in this customer-facing role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: large-scale data processing pipelines, machine learning for real-world problems, balancing the needs of many downstream clients, collaboration across teams and timezones.

Responsibilities

  • Execute focused subtasks within a broader project, with tasks assigned by management or executive team members. 
  • Aim for high-quality work within a short timeframe.
  • Select from existing solutions to familiar technical problems, escalating complex issues to executive members.
  • Collaborate with the larger team through knowledge sharing and cross-functional contributions.
  • Contribute to existing data pipelines, focusing on data ingestion, cleaning, preprocessing, and feature engineering with an emphasis on modern machine learning techniques like embeddings. Collaborate with team members to refine pipeline components, select appropriate data storage solutions, and escalate any complex issues that arise.
