Senior Embedded Software Engineer, Audio, Pixel Buds

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with software development in C or C++ programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 3 years of experience working with low power embedded audio processors.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
  • Experience with integration and debug of complex audio algorithms across heterogenous processor networks.
  • Experience with audio algorithms.
  • Experience working with System Software, DSP Software, Audio Systems, or Hardware Validation teams.

In this role, you will help our audio algorithm teams deploy and validate new algorithms for Pixel Bud devices. You will work on new technology explorations and be responsible for proof of concept prototype deployment as part of the NTI process. Additionally, you will work with Systems Software and Hardware Validation teams to ensure that integration of new features into the production device is successful, and understand/fix bugs during development and in production.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $161,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Work with Audio Algorithm and DSP Software teams to create prototypes of new experiences for testing and for early integration proof of concepts.
  • Work with System Software and Audio Systems teams to ensure integration of new algorithms or components is smooth.
  • Work with Hardware Validation teams to debug integration problems and test new features as they are being tested.
  • Help drive bug triage and fixes for development and production devices.
