About the job

As the Director of Security Engineering, you will lead the 100+ Security Engineers in Cloud CISO Product Security Engineering (PSE) that span 6 major locations and cover a broad range of Security Engineering capabilities including Assessments and Reviews, At Scale Hardening, Large-Scale Remedations, Software Supply Chain Security, Vulnerability Research, PhysICS, Off The Shelf (OTS) Hardware security, and Vulnerability Rewards/Incident Response.

In this role, you will operate at senior levels (e.g., General Manager, Principal Engineer, etc.) as well as across the full spectrum of senior security leaders across Alphabet to drive multiple complex cross-Google and cross-Cloud security engineering programs. You will have primary responsibility for Cloud’s Product Security Posture.

The cross-Google nature of Security Engineering programs and engagements in Cloud requires a senior technical leader comfortable with operating both vertically and laterally using influence, who is experienced in building consensus, creating alignment and accountabilities and driving significant outcomes across multiple organizations and stakeholders where Cloud CISO often does not have direct responsibility for resources or resource assignment.

This is a complex set of work that requires a unique combination of leadership, technical acumen, and significant security experience within a very large software development environment.
