Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of marketing research experience (agency or client side), e.g. end-to-end custom research, including: research design, project management, data analysis, and synthesis of insights into a narrative.
  • Experience synthesizing insights and connecting then to business strategies.
  • Experience running both qualitative and quantitative insights projects.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in a technology or telecommunications company or agency role.
  • Experience with research vendor management.
  • Experience with syndicated tools.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with stakeholder management skills.

Product and Business Strategy Leaders bring together teams across Google’s functions to help products execute optimally. Our team pushes Google to scale at key points that refine our products and infrastructure by executing efficiently, bringing solid business sense and sound judgment, and working effectively across organizational lines.

Our roles often include components of strategy (e.g. analyzing and understanding new trends in the industry, building business plans), operations (e.g. running the cadence of organizations, connecting the operating lines between our functions), and communications. Our team partners with senior leadership to run important functions that cross-cut our existing organizations and deliver high impact projects. We help Engineers, PMs, UX, and all of our other functions to build amazing products that delight our users, and then get those products into their hands.

As a Go-to-Market Insights Manager, you will shape our market strategy through in-depth qualitative and quantitative research. Collaborating closely with the Insights and Analytics, Platforms and Devices Marketing, and Sales teams, you will generate critical understanding of our product portfolio's customers and target audiences, with a specific focus on Pixel mobility.

You will also analyze the customer profiles of our key US retail partners, merging these insights with our own to empower partner marketing and sales teams in building and strengthening external collaborations with retailers and brands. Your expertise in understanding customer attitudes, behaviors, media consumption, purchase drivers, and communication preferences will directly influence the creation of highly resonant campaigns.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$174,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Act as the strategy insights partner on all consumer insights that help enable external brand and carrier partnerships for Pixel.
  • Leverage syndicated and custom research to better understand our go to market target audience, including their hobbies, passions, attitudes, behaviors, and shopping patterns.
  • Investigate and recommend external brand partnerships that most closely resonate with our go-to-market audience.
  • Build deliverables to help stakeholders better understand the customer base of each of our major carrier and retail partners in the US, leveraging syndicated data, as well as internal custom research.
  • Build partnership insights research roadmap, working with Marketing and Sales stakeholders to understand needs, prioritize asks, and scope quantitative and qualitative research.
