Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., C, C++）
- 1 year of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- 1 year of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 1 year of experience with software development including internships.
- Experience in backend coding languages such as C/C++, GOLang.
- Experience testing, maintaining, and launching software products/infrastructure.
- Passion for building deep system skills and low level system, OS, firmware, low level networking understanding or hardware, etc.

Google is looking to build the next generation of on-prem AI infrastructure to bring the best of Google to empower frontier model and AI solution builders to advance AI around the world. We are looking for engineers/Tech Lead/Managers (TLMs) with exposure to fully integrated AI infrastructure systems (e.g., GPU or TPU), from HardWare (HW) to SoftWare (SW) design and workload management, to developing large-scale training and inference workloads, and optimizing performance.
As a Software Engineer, you will build large AI clusters using the latest technologies for AI acceleration and cluster interconnects and networking.The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to development, tools and infrastructure for the hybrid and on-prem AI infrastructure business.
- Work with peer engineers within Google teams to deliver well scoped projects, with good quality and documentation.
- Support the team in maintaining and enhancing product, engineering, operational, and support excellence to ensure reliable and high-performance operations.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of new product features.
- Learn about Google's oncall best practices and participate in an oncall support rotation.
