Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or Data Sciences or, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in operations, with a focus on data analytics and performance quality and operational excellence.
- 5 years of experience leading technical programs, project management.
Preferred qualifications:
- 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- 7 years of experience in the extended workforce industry, direct vendor management, setting and driving vendor strategy, process improvement, contracting, commercial negotiations
- Understanding on marine maintenance and operations of submarine cables, as well as operation and maintenance of cable stations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to think creatively whilst analytically identifying opportunities to measure, improve operational outcomes.

Google is forming a new Submarine cable organisation which will build, operate and promote global infrastructure to support Google Global Networking growth and open networking objectives. This organisation will require dedicated operations program to help define, design and deploy resources towards a cohesive and coordinated plan embedded within the Google Global Networking and wider Google Cloud division. The development will bring significant new resources into Google, stimulate slick, simplistic governance and drive a talent development program to ensure adequate succession planning and career development in this unique and specific part of the business.

Responsibilities
- Own design, delivery and implementation of an E2E Operational Readiness Testing program for new systems introduction and network operationalisation, ensuring Network reliability, processes robustness and completing retrospective analysis and improvement from build to operate.
- Lead and manage cross-functional teams to deliver on Network Operations related programs and its agreed objectives and outcomes.
- Ensure that Network Operations processes are aligned with best practices and industry standards which are adapted and improved upon for Google Submarine Network.
- Gather and collate all aspects of necessary Data and Analytics to drive operational efficiency and build to existing in operational systems.
- Leverage data analytics to identify, create and establish measures of operational excellence/quality, dashboard views across domains, cross correlation of inputs to drive operational excellence evident within the Operate Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
