Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in program management.
- Experience developing and delivering enterprise software.
- Experience managing the software development life cycle.
Preferred qualifications:
- 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- Experience delivering data or technical solutions in the sustainability, environmental science, or related fields.
- Ability to learn and understand the technical context of programs, contribute to technical discussions, and lead or influence solution design.
- Excellent influencing skills, with the ability to build cross-functional teams and deliver solutions in a changing and ambiguous environment.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
As the Technical Program Managers, you will be responsible for leading the strategy, roadmap, and orchestration of key technology initiatives and solutions. You will help the team plan and implement data and technology solutions that support sustainability goals.
You will partner with business stakeholders and other sustainability engineering teams to define impactful solutions that support the current needs while also innovating for the future. You will partner with the team to define options and implementation strategies, while leading the orchestration and execution plan for product launches.
The Global Sustainability team enables Google to build a more sustainable future for everyone by driving strategy and solutions. We drive the development and implementation of Google’s global sustainability strategy to further empower action, ensure alignment and prioritization, identify leadership opportunities, and mitigate risks. We drive sustainability strategy and programs on carbon, circular economy, water, product integration, reporting, and employee engagement, while serving as a sustainability leadership advocate internally and externally.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand or identify defined work problems and program goals, obtain prioritized deliverables, and discuss program impact.
- Prioritize program goals, understand and translate other stakeholders’ needs into program goals and prioritized deliverables with minimal assistance, and contribute to decisions on prioritizing goals and deliverables.
- Define the scope of projects and develop, execute, or manage project plans for supported programs.
- Review key metrics pertaining to a program, monitor potential metric deviations, and define corrective actions for critical deviations.
- Identify, communicate, and collaborate with stakeholders within one or more teams to drive impact and work toward mutual goals, and build, maintain, and enhance business, operational, and management dashboards.
