Staff Software Engineer, Optimuz

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development.
  • 5 years of experience with Generative AI techniques (e.g., Large Language Models (LLMs), Multi-Modal, Large Vision Models) or with Generative AI-related concepts (e.g., language modeling, computer vision).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with applying AI/ML concepts (e.g., NLP, predictive modeling, recommendation engines, Generative AI) to build and launch features in products.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with AI/ML services.
  • Experience in designing integrations with third-party enterprise platforms (e.g., IT Service Management, Human Resource Information Systems, Customer Relationship Management).
  • Experience in one or more programming languages (e.g., C++, Java, Python, Go).
  • Ability to work in a changing environment with making decisions to solve technical and product tests.

In this role, you will set the team’s goals and also mentor and develop the engineers. You will work with the Product Manager (PM) team and User Experience (UX) team to identify the user requirements and journeys, contribute in the design of the architecture and foundations of the products, code key pieces and launch and maintain the service.The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical goal, strategy, and architecture for integrating Google's internal enterprise platforms and user applications with first-party or third-party enterprise platforms. You will design the canonical data models, Application programming interface (API) agreements and event-motivated systems.
  • Manage the design, development, and deployment of applied Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) solutions. Guide team in building features that leverage Natural Language Processing (NLP), predictive analytics, and generative AI to create automations, IT experiences, and insight.
  • Define the patterns for how Google integrates with Software as a Service (SaaS) vendor. Work on quality of the integrations your team builds.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Business Leaders to influence the technical roadmap. Translate business problems into technical designs and deliverables.
