Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in technical sourcing and supply chain management.
  • 10 years of professional experience in hardware or business operations.
  • Experience managing and negotiating with Contract Manufacturers (CM).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a technical or engineering field or MBA.
  • Experience developing, presenting, and getting buy-in for innovation/strategy/process business case and launching in a complex, large-scale, multi-team environment.
  • Proven ability to build and lead high performing Sourcing & Procurement teams, with a strong track record of change management success.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical groups and craft compelling messages.
  • Proven negotiator with track record of establishing successful executive level supplier partnerships.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed (< 20% of the time).

About the job

As the Manager, Manufacturing Business Management, you will lead a global team that is responsible for the sourcing, manufacturing, business award, contracting, and commercial discussions with external contract manufacturing partners for the products managed by your organization. You will be responsible for establishing, developing, and maintaining strategic partnerships at the executive level with external contract manufacturing partners that enable the team to achieve all critical business metrics at scale.

In this role, you will lead the development and delivery of transformational tactical, operational and strategic manufacturing solutions in close collaboration with internal executive level stakeholders in Sourcing, Program Management, Engineering, Operations, Planning, Compliance, Finance, Legal, and other teams. You will be responsible for overseeing that your team successfully manages the manufacturing partnership framework for the entire product lifecycle by engaging early with potential partner candidates, building sourcing strategy consensus with internal stakeholders, disucssing all costs and commercial agreements, and ensuring that manufacturing partners perform across all domains delivering impactful results.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$258,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire a Manufacturing Business Management (MBM) team, strategically evolving the function. Build a healthy, scalable and growth-oriented organization across multiple locations and attract, develop, and retain top talent.
  • Develop, communicate, build consensus with ELT (Executive Leadership Team), and execute long term global manufacturing strategies.
  • Lead and oversee the RFx and program award processes across a broad landscape of product categories ensuring the best outcomes for the business.
  • Serve as the cost principal and escalation point for entirety of assigned business landscape and discuss all final aspects of commercial engagement including contracting, Manufacturing Value Add (MVA) and selected component BOM costs, and financial claims incurred throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Generate innovative and leading edge ideas and strategies to improve costs and optimize manufacturing.
