About the job
Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.
The Google Ads Conversion Infrastructure team is looking for a talented software engineer (and technical lead) with a passion for large-scale data processing, distributed systems, and a desire to build mission-critical infrastructure that will empower advertisers worldwide.
In this role, you will design and implement high-throughput, low-latency data systems fundamental to Google’s success and the management of conversion data across Google Ads' products.
Responsibilities
- Guide the team's long-term direction by defining strategies and delivering results for technical initiatives, while identifying potential risks and pivots in advance.
- Navigate and resolve high-level technical ambiguity, transforming abstract concepts into detailed designs that align with unification objectives and deliver product value.
- Oversee engineering group development and manage cross-team dependencies, defining actionable milestones, clarifying solutions, and addressing daily implementation hurdles.
- Extend technical influence across multiple organizations to align stakeholders with competing goals, providing guidance and collaborating with partner teams to apply conversion infrastructure to business needs.
