Product Strategist, Localization (L10n)

This is a 18-month Fixed-Term Contract (FTC).

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of project or program management experience working across teams.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working internationally or professionally in multiple languages, with a demonstrated passion for Google products and users.
  • Experience with localization operations and strategy, localization program management, or internationalization.
  • Ability to present to executive decision-makers in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Ability to operate in a growing, ambiguous, and global environment with demonstrated success in project management, execution, and multitasking.
  • Ability to craft solutions that meet stakeholder and user needs by leveraging the existing Menu of Services (MoS) or new technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and communicate with multiple stakeholders at all levels of management.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$204,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Orchestrate the entire localization life-cycle for Google products from initial inception to launch. Take ownership of vendor execution to ensure seamless delivery, quality standards, and cost-efficiency across all project phases.
  • Cultivate influential relationships with product teams, serving as a SME on the localization journey. Advocate for global users by partnering with stakeholders to align localization strategies with business objectives and regional insights.
  • Collaborate with the Portfolio Lead to manage product localization budgets. Analyze product roadmaps to drive annual planning and data-driven guidance to stakeholders.
  • Master localization workflows to identify critical tool and process enhancements. Partner with Operations and Engineering teams to deploy scalable solutions that drive operational efficiency.
  • Build and present compelling cases for new opportunities, including language expansion and process refinements. Package insights into communications to influence leadership and drive global implementation.
