Software Engineering Manager, Google Cloud Storage (Mandarin, English)

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development.
  • 5 years of experience in testing and launching software products.
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
  • 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin and English fluently to partner with local clients and regional partners.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with storage technologies and managing a team that built and operated systems at scale.
  • Experience in partnering with cross-functional stakeholders (program manager/technical program manager/SRE) and building a solid roadmap of launches/improvements for specific areas.
  • Experience in driving a portfolio of concurrent engineering projects running the gamut from short-term critical feature launches to long-term initiatives.
  • Experience with delighting enterprise customers, and understanding of enterprise workloads.
  • Ability to work with specialists on system designs and ambiguity.
  • Ability to understand and guide work within a large, complex codebase.

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead and grow a high-performing team focused on delivering a high-performance storage solution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team to deliver a high-performance, client experience for Google Cloud Storage and to build a high-performing team to execute on Storage priority of enabling AI/ML workloads for customers.
  • Partner with stakeholders and technical leads to define and execute the technical strategy for Storage and ensure the team's roadmap directly supports the goal.
  • Guide the team through complex architectural decisions and ensure standards for code quality. Improve the end-to-end customer experience.
  • Hire, develop, and retain a high-performing team of software engineers while fostering an environment.
  • Demonstrate deep customer empathy.
