Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience in solution engineering or architecture and 5 years of experience in stakeholder management, professional services, or technical consulting.
- 3 years of experience writing code in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java).
- 1 year of experience with Android Compliance (CTS, GTS, VTS, ATS) or owning and defining software, hardware, UX requirements.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical fields.
- Experience in consulting, technical consulting in a customer-facing role, with solid results working with a variety of different types of customers, engineers, and business.
- Experience with Android OS embedded software development.
- Experience in automotive software.
- Proven track record of managing multiple time-sensitive initiatives with minimal guidance and high attention to detail. Ability to lead and implement high-impact projects with cross-functional teams.
About the job
The Android Automotive Partner Engineering team is at the forefront of the automotive industry, ensuring cars launch with Android Automotive OS (AAOS), Google Automotive Services (GAS), and new automotive products to ensure a safe and seamless experience in every car.
You will work closely with internal and external partners, such as leading global vehicle Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEMs), SoC vendors, and third-party service providers to define partner requirements and enforce compliance to ensure compatible and high-quality products.
You will define and execute a Compliance strategy for an expanding product portfolio designed to give OEMs the choice of products to fit the needs. You will ensure that Automotive requirements, test suites, and policies are updated with new products and new Android releases. You will be working cross-functionally with Engineering, UX, Product, and Program leads.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team, responsible for Automotive Compliance for AAOS, Google Automotive Services, and other Automotive Embedded products. Align the Automotive Compliance strategy with other Android verticals (Google Mobile Services (GMS), TV, Wear).
- Work within the Android Automotive team and with Automotive OEM partners to own and define ecosystem requirements to help ensure that our partners launch high-quality products.
- Manage, maintain, and triage various Test Suite (xTS) (e.g.,Compatibility Test Suite (CTS), Vendor Test Suite (VTS), Automotive Test Suite (ATS)) issues reported by OEMs, SoC vendors, and other partners. Work with third-party suppliers and define strategies to scale Automotive Compliance for OEM partners.
- Work with regional account teams to handle partner communications, escalations, and exception requests. Drive escalations to a resolution.
- Work with customer stakeholders as a trusted advisor and provide expert guidance on critical solution decisions.
