Industry Manager, Large Customer Sales

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of industry experience in digital advertising, consultative sales, business development, or digital marketing, or 6 years of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Experience in building and leveraging relationships with directors and C-Level stakeholders by knowing their business and sharing impactful data-driven insights.
  • Experience in building relationships with advertisers, agencies, or clients within the media and advertising sectors in South Africa.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in digital advertising sales/marketing, working with brands as well as advertising creative and media agencies across all levels.
  • Experience in one or more of the following verticals: Banking, Insurance, Telco or Retail.
  • Understanding of the digital ecosystem including performance marketing. Knowledge of Google products at a full funnel level including search, display and video.
  • Ability to align multiple stakeholders internally and externally to defined goals and deliverables.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

Our Large Customer Sales teams partner closely with many of the world’s biggest advertisers and agencies to develop digital solutions that build businesses and brands. We enjoy a bird’s eye view on the massive transformation occurring as advertising shifts to mobile and online platforms. We're uniquely situated to help shape how companies grow their businesses in the digital age. We advise clients on Google's broad range of products across search, video and mobile to help them connect instantly and seamlessly with their audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain customer and media agency relationships at all levels, including C-Suite level, and serve as a point of contact with the goal of deepening relationships, optimizing advertising resources and increasing the customer’s profitable growth.
  • Develop and present to customers, forward thinking, data-driven analyses and consultative recommendations that align with their goals and quantify impact opportunities with clear recommendations.
  • Understanding of customer business and marketing objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), and challenges, structure joint business plans (JBPs) for key customer accounts that help them achieve their goals, while transforming their growth curve.
  • Build cross-functional relationships with other teams within Google to deliver innovative advertising business solutions.
  • Develop case studies of successful campaigns in order to share insights with the broader industry and to serve as an advocate at industry events and conferences.
