Area Security Manager, Google Data Centers

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience developing and deploying processes to mitigate risk, and leading operational or project based work and tasks.
  • 10 years of experience managing, sourcing, or procuring business resources and vendors.
  • 10 years of experience in a people management, supervision, or team leadership role, and coordinating/managing resources for data center locations.
  • Experience managing a geographically dispersed employee and contracted workforce, as well as working with confidential information.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree.
  • 10 years of experience coordinating or leading security, and planning security operations or strategy for security programs.
  • 5 years of experience managing incidents and crises.
  • 3 years of experience with data center technologies, infrastructure, and methodologies.
  • 3 years of experience with physical security system architecture, components, installation methods, administration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with physical security, investigations, compliance, or risk management, as well as familiarity with Google applications.

Google’s Data Center Compliance, Safety, and Risk Management (CSRM) team is a dedicated organization chartered with protecting the people and assets of Google’s global critical infrastructure. CSRM consists of industry leading professionals who leverage advanced security systems, dedicated guarding teams, and rigorous risk management and compliance framework programs to support the entirety of Google Data Centers.

In this role, you will manage the risk program including specific physical security, crisis response, and compliance functions within the Data Center or related infrastructure.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $144,000-$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of individuals, set and communicate individual and team priorities that support organizational goals. Meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development, and provide feedback and coaching.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute protocols and practices to assess and mitigate threats to company assets, and recommend security solutions/tools to help mitigate vulnerabilities and automate tasks.
  • Design and implement security operations programs and manage daily operations, ensuring multiple technical infrastructure locations are in compliance with all regional governmental and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Conduct, assist, or provide guidance in investigations related to security/Code of Conduct risk and violations.
  • Develop cross-functional strategies to keep operational costs to a minimum, improve efficiency, and maintain an appropriate security posture.
