Product Manager II, Android System UI

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 2 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
  • Experience working on consumer-facing User Experience (UX) and partnering with User Experience Researchers (UXR) to identify core user needs.
  • Experience with mobile/Android devices, the Android ecosystem, developers, operating systems, and system UI.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
  • 3 years of experience in a role preparing and delivering technical presentations to senior leadership.
  • 3 years of experience in product management, ideally in both consumer and enterprise-facing products.
  • 2 years of experience in software development or engineering.
  • 2 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, sales finance, and other stakeholders.
  • 1 year of experience in technical leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the developer Product Manager (PM) team, developers, Business Development (BD), and app/service teams (both Google and external) to build useful system integrations.
  • Work with Android Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) on developing core system surfaces (i.e. lockscreen) in a more convergent way.
  • Work with Research/Machine Learning (ML) teams as well as design to build out the role of GenAI/ML in the operating system.
  • Identify user gaps and opportunities to compete across phone/tablet/Android ecosystem.
  • Partner with several engineering teams (across Android and other Product Areas) to build alignment, define the feature specifications, and build and launch the feature with high quality. Comply with all company health and safety policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
