As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.
The Headcount and Hiring Operations team is responsible for resource management within the Core product area. The team drives alignment around operational processes and reporting, and enables the Core sub-teams to execute and adjust their approach in an informed way. The team’s mission is to drive informed timely headcount, hiring decision making across stakeholders through insights and consultations, supported by scalable processes.
The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $126,000-$181,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Manage the day to day headcount and hiring operations for Core product area, including implementation of a new funding framework and hiring prioritization principles.
- Organize and implement cross-functional projects that have direct and meaningful impact on the business.
- Execute change management requirements that are identified by program stakeholders.
- Determine and collect data required to execute and govern programs. Maintain project trackers and status reports. Identify and execute on program tasks including managing dependencies.
- Build trusted relationships with program stakeholders, including managing expectations of program stakeholders and ensuring they have the insights they need to make decisions.
