Data Center Engineer, Electrical Engineering

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments.
  • Experience in electrical infrastructure.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business or other relevant fields.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Experience with cross-discipline teams (e.g., structural, civil, IT/Telecom, security, mechanical, architectural).
  • Experience working with data center equipment and environments (e.g., switchgear, generators, transformers, controls, security monitoring systems, fire safety systems), with an understanding of start up/commissioning processes.
  • Experience in design, construction, and commissioning of high voltage substations, medium or low voltage electrical distribution systems, Alternating Current (AC)/Direct Current (DC) systems.

Along with a team of great minds, you take on complex topics like how we use power or how to run state-of-the-art, environmentally-friendly facilities. You're a visionary who optimizes for efficiencies and never stops seeking improvements -- even small changes that can make a huge impact. You generate ideas, communicate recommendations to senior-level executives and drive implementation alongside facilities technicians.

With your technical expertise, you ensure compliance with codes and standards, develop infrastructure improvements and serve as an expert in your specialty (e.g., cooling, electrical).

As a Data Center Engineer, you will lead the development and implementation of new electrical products. In this role, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects, collaborating with various teams, and delivering substation product solutions.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $144,000-$209,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement High, Medium and Low Voltage system physical design using Air-Insulated Substations (AIS) and Gas-Insulated Substations (GIS products.
  • Develop and review power system studies, grounding calculations, current transformer sizing, voltage drop, etc.
  • Be familiar with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and American National Standards Institute (ANSI)/National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) standards.
  • Develop new electrical product solutions for Switchgear, Transformers, Energy Storage, Micro Grids for electrical large scale AC and DC electrical infrastructure for mission critical facilities.
