Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in compliance, risk management, investigation, auditing, legal, or consulting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience organizing data and applying business context to improve processes or operations.
  • Experience in a regulatory, compliance, or legal role.
  • Experience with handling relationships with regulatory bodies, government bodies or any law enforcement agencies.
  • Experience with managing a technology solution (e.g., implementation of tools and innovative processes that promote effective, efficient operations, and providing information to the compliance function and leadership).
  • Ability to partner with cross-functional teams and influence other teams without direct authority.
  • Ability to build relationships with the Law Enforcement Agencies.

About the job

The Google Compliance team makes sure that our business is always consistent with the current financial regulations. Comprised of multitaskers, this team balances Google's legal and compliance requirements with the dynamic needs of our users and the values of our company. As part of this team, you proactively identify pain points and gaps in existing policy frameworks and find innovative solutions. You develop efficient compliance systems and work with teams to implement these across the organization. You are thorough in all you do and see to it that as Google pursues our next big idea, we always have our bases covered.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that Google's services stay in continuous compliance with regulations and internal policy requirements. You will have a general working knowledge of the payments landscape in India and regulatory oversight and requirements, along with expertise in managing critical external relationships with regulatory bodies and various law enforcement agencies.

You will primarily support the Principal Nodal Officer for Google Pay and directly engage, where required, with respective regulatory bodies and law enforcement agencies. You will execute and implement adherence to define processes for resolution of complaints escalated to the Nodal office and manage the overall relationship with regulatory bodies such as Banking Ombudsman. You will support the Nodal Office with any process improvement initiatives, policy discussion etc.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure efficient, coordinated, and proactive management of the Nodal Office for the respective Products.
  • Create processes to ensure effective closure of escalations from various law enforcement agencies across the country. 
  • Manage and maintain regulatory relationships with key bodies such as Banking Ombudsman and critical law enforcement agencies.
  • Oversight, tracking & timely resolution of complaints and other escalations received by the Nodal Office. 
  • Ensure timely and effective compliance of Law Enforcement Agencies instructions on customer complaint handling in tune with the spirit and intent of such instructions.
