Product Manager, YouTube Notifications Platform

  • 3 years of experience in product management, engineering, or a related technical role.
  • 2 years of experience taking consumer products from conception to launch, including defining product requirements, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (e.g., Engineering, UX/UI, Data Science) to drive product execution.
  • Experience applying AI/ML technologies and data-driven insights to solve user problems.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with platforms or infrastructure products.
  • Experience in consumer-facing growth or engagement products.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including engineering and partner product teams.
  • Excellent thinking skills with the ability to define product goal and write detailed PRDs.

About the job

As a Product Manager for the YouTube Notifications Platform, you will be the "Notification Expert," you will imagine and brainstorm innovative notification types that genuinely excite people and bring them back to YouTube.

Your mission is to help users understand value (e.g. likes, comments) that’s happening on the platform, and then design strategies and platform experiences in partnership with YouTube teams to help communicate this value responsibly. You will act as a cross-team expert, and partner with Viewer, Community, Creator and Music teams to orchestrate a seamless notification experience and drive the growth of YouTube products and experiences.At YouTube, we believe that everyone deserves to have a voice, and that the world is a better place when we share, and build community through our stories. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Own the product strategy for the YTN Platform, including notification satisfaction, personalization, and partnerships, and define goals, write Product Requirements Document (PRDs), and allocate resources to achieve them in partnership with engineering.
  • Influence and assist partner teams in writing strategies and PRDs for notification experiences built on the YTNP stack, driving projects from conception to landing.
  • Define and execute partnerships with the Google Notifications Platform (e.g. personalization of time of day, satisfaction) to improve YTN capabilities and the overall user value of the ecosystem.
  • Partner with the YTN Quality team on shared projects such as inbox for growth and tray optimizations.
