Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in a related technical field.
  • Experience in a large-scale, global corporate environment, preferably within the technology sector.
  • Experience with capacity planning, supply chain management, or site selection.
  • Deep understanding of data center and infrastructure, including power, cooling, and network architectures.

About the job

The Google Global Infrastructure team oversees the physical infrastructure powering and connecting all of Google’s consumer services, AI services, and Cloud services globally. This team is responsible for the strategy, operations, technology roadmap, delivery, and optimization for Google’s global footprint of data centers, energy and network infrastructure across design, power, space, and fleet-wide demand planning.

The high performing infrastructure team drives Google’s global energy, location, data center, and network strategy and acquisition. A key objective is to achieve our ambitious goal of net-zero emissions and 24/7 carbon-free energy. The networking team is responsible for the design, development, and operation of Google’s advanced, intent-driven global network. The capacity and demand planning teams are tasked with developing and executing the portfolio strategy for our global infrastructure, ensuring adequate power, space, networking, and machine resources to support Google's current and future growth.

As the Product Lead for this domain, you will play a pivotal role in driving Google’s global infrastructure expansion. Your responsibilities will include defining and executing a comprehensive product and business strategy across these areas.

This requires close collaboration with partners, including Google GenAI/ML leadership, Google Cloud products, Google DeepMind, Global Networking, Data Center Engineering, Government Affairs and Policy, Finance, Operations, and Google-wide Product teams. Your primary objective will be to ensure that our infrastructure can seamlessly scale to meet the evolving demands of Google's products and services.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $320,000-$445,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop and advocate for the long-term product vision and strategy for Google's Global Infrastructure. Be responsible for creating a roadmap that aligns with Google's overall business objectives and infrastructure growth.
  • Create and manage a product portfolio to forecast future power, space, network and machine needs based on product roadmaps, capacity utilization, and technological advancements.
  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for all the infrastructure services in the GGI portfolio, from ideation and requirements gathering to launch and post-launch analysis. Be responsible for defining product specifications and ensuring timely execution.
  • Identify and implement strategies to optimize the use of existing power space and machines, including repurposing unused or underutilized capacity.
