Technical Program Manager, Product Development and Insertion for Data Centers

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience in data center engineering and product design.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certifications like Managing Successful Programmes (MSP)/Management of Risk (MOR).
  • Experience in technical and product program management.
  • Experience managing risk of product and programs, implementing mitigation plans.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and succeed at a fast pace of change.

Google is transforming how hyperscale data centers are planned, designed, and built from custom, stick-built, multi-year construction monoliths to manufactured, modular, just-in-time deployments of fungible capacity. The Product Development and Insertion (PDI) organization under Data Center Technology and Systems (DCTS) is the execution arm of the development of such fungible capacity. PDI, working alongside the different pillars within DCTS, drives and provides ownership of the various products and programs that will enable the future modular technology for Google Cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Execute scope for cross-functional product development of new products and programs. Guide products through the product lifecycle process.
  • Work with upstream and downstream partner teams across data centers, specifically, supply chain, construction and execution teams, hardware and software operations to help execute successful product insertions.
  • Lead the site intercept process quickly assesses specific data center sites for their ability to adopt emerging design configurations. Align, plan and deliver Data Center design delivery.
  • Develop and execute tech insertion cut-in framework that defines the point of no return for design changes based on construction schedules and supply chain lead times.
  • Orchestrate executive decision support and reporting and process optimization (speed to plan). Execute scope for cross-functional product development of new products and programs, stretching to address undefined challenges with limited guidance.
