Technical Solutions Consultant, Android TV Partner Engineering

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in technical project management, stakeholder management, professional services, solution engineering, or technical consulting in the mobile/CE/embedded space.
  • 2 years of experience in low-level/embedded systems, and internet streaming technologies within the consumer electronics or embedded systems domain.
  • 1 year of experience in technical troubleshooting and writing code in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, C++ or Python).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Android application or platform development experience including Android kernel, and Android BSP.
  • Experience in the consumer electronics or embedded systems industry, with an understanding of internet and streaming technologies.
  • Experience with performance analysis and tuning in embedded systems and Android.
  • Experience with a proactive, ownership-driven approach to solve problems, while managing multiple projects and stakeholders.
  • Experience with Linux kernel, internals, device driver APIs, and excellent communication skills and the ability to travel to mainland China, to collaborate with partners.
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin Chinese fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

About the job

As a Technical Solutions Consultant, you will be responsible for the technical relationship of our largest advertising clients and/or product partners. You will lead cross-functional teams in Engineering, Sales and Product Management to leverage emerging technologies for our external clients/partners. From concept design and testing to data analysis and support, you will oversee the technical execution and business operations of Google's online advertising platforms and/or product partnerships.

You will be able to balance business and partner needs with technical constraints, develop innovative, cutting edge solutions and act as a partner and consultant to those you are working with. You will also be able to build tools and automate products, oversee the technical execution and business operations of Google's partnerships, as well as develop product strategy and prioritize projects and resources.

As a Technical Solutions Consultant in our Android TV Partner Engineering team, you are the technical engagement manager taking responsibility for the success of our Android TV partnerships. You optimize implementations for quality, performance and increased business opportunities, and manage the overall technical aspects to build strong, successful, partnerships.

You will be able to drive the technical partner engagement for our projects across the Android TV ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed technical reviews of partner implementations, proactively identify and resolve technical challenges to ensure successful device launches, and advocate for new product features based on partner feedback.
  • Improve product feature offerings by providing partner feedback and advocating on behalf of the partner to internal cross-functional teams including Product Management and Engineering.
  • Improve partner devices through debug and resolution of technical issues across the stack including SOC BSP, Android framework, and Android TV specific application components. 
  • Ensure the technical aspects of a partner’s integration (both new and ongoing) by providing the necessary documentation and technical guidance.
  • Identify, drive, and optimize the business flow from new business opportunities by leveraging Google technologies.
