We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.

With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.

In this role, you will join Information Security Engineering (ISE) as a Senior Technical Lead in Safe Coding to lead our Software Supply Chain security efforts.

As a foundational hire in Singapore, you will serve as a cultural ambassador, establishing strong engineering norms and healthy team culture by leading by example. You will drive technical strategy and architect solutions to mitigate supply chain risks across various ecosystems. You will bring innovation, creative freedom, and ethical hacking to our new location, ensuring security excellence is built into the site’s DNA. Your mission is to solve complex problems that protect Google while maintaining developer velocity at scale.
The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

  • Implement and validate security mitigations, apply techniques to improve spatial safety in C++ code, and contribute to the migration of Google's systems towards memory-safe programming languages such as Rust.
  • Lead a first class software engineering team. Be responsible for the technical mentorship, team culture and engineering excellence
  • Collaborate with the engineering manager, Product Manager (PM) and Technical Program Manager (T/PgM) partners to define and execute the team's goal, roadmap and AI strategy and ensure a smooth transfer of existing projects and partnerships to the new team.
  • Build strong partnerships and collaboration roadmaps with partner teams in Google's Software Supply Chain Integrity program, executive stakeholders, industry and academia.
