Director, Head of Human Resources

Minimum qualifications:

  • 15 years of experience in HR leadership in global, multinational companies including HR business partnership roles, at regional or country level
  • Experience designing and implementing DEI strategies and programming for the UK market
  • Experience in building and leading a team
  • Experience in employment laws, regulations and labour relations within the UK, and with employee representative bodies

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience as a Head of HR UK in a multinational company
  • Senior level management experience in a high performing and fast-paced global environment, preferably in high tech
  • Ability to lead with facts and inform with data
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator and influencer, with the ability to manage a complex set of stakeholders and advocate change through influence rather than authority
  • High degree of personal and professional credibility, including responsiveness, business focus, integrity, sound judgment, and ability to prioritize effectively across competing demands

People Operations strives to revolutionize human resources the same way that Google has revolutionized search. You'll be an advocate of Google's culture and values, partnering with our business leaders to help them build their organizations and make sure all people decisions are based on data. Whether coaching our clients on how to lead their teams, navigating and resolving employee relations issues or managing programs that help develop our Googlers, you are exceptionally focused on putting them first, and being as clear and transparent as possible to help Googlers understand how people decisions get made.

As the Head of HR for the UK, you will set the country-specific HR strategy for the UK. Leveraging insights from business imperatives and nuanced local needs, you will drive a ā€œOne Googleā€ experience. You will also play a pivotal role in contributing to the vision for People Operations at Google.

Responsibilities

  • Build partnerships with Legal, Integrity, Compliance, DEI, and Employee Relations teams to create forward looking solutions that are market specific.Ā 
  • Identify local employment, labour relations, and compliance risks and partner with critical stakeholders to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Advise on employee consultation obligations and manage such processes. Minimize risk and negative impact on operations.
  • Represent Google in external associations.
    Advocate diversity and inclusion across the market, and foster local employee communities.
  • Identify opportunities for talent sharing across product areas and functions in different markets, including driving internal mobility and career growth for Googlers.
