Director, Product Management, Consumer and AI/ML Experiences

Minimum qualifications:

  • 15 years of experience in product management, engineering, and technology strategy roles within the consumer product space
  • Experience with AI and ML (i.e., camera vision, NLU, language models) and shipping AI/ML based products
  • Experience building and launching mobile apps on iOS and Android
  • Experience with the consumer hardware experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in product management: providing product vision and roadmaps, directing successful consumer product launches across markets, and creating innovative, successful products
  • Demonstrated track record of complex product work and outbound customer work, and experience working collaboratively with multi-functional teams
  • Outstanding product portfolio, demonstrating clear insights, instinct for knowing what users want, and an understanding of current technologies and services of related products
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and grow a team of product managers
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to listen and advocate designs
  • Prioritizes the “how” in leadership, including innovative thinking and collaboration

About the job

In this role, you will lead Product Management for our Consumer and AI software experiences for Google Home and Nest; this includes our suite of AI/ML products and features (i.e., camera perception, LLMs, etc.), Home and Nest Apps, Nest Aware and Renew subscriptions, Home+Pixel initiatives, Google Assistant in the Home and vertical experiences which support our first-party and third-party hardware products like cameras, TV streamers, thermostats, and more.

We are looking for Product Management professional who will drive the vision and product roadmap for consumer app and AI experiences, and deliver high quality and impactful launches through close partnership with engineering and design.

The Google Nest team focuses on hardware, software, and services for the home, ranging from Nest thermostats to Nest smart displays. The Google Nest team develops, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make users’ homes more helpful. Our mission is the helpful home: to create a home that cares for the people inside it and the world around it.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $253,000-$363,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Drive the vision, productionization, and development process for our product roadmap leveraging AI/ML.
  • Drive our profit maximizing strategy by scaling our consumer subscription service by both identifying how to grow our TAM and ARPU. 
  • Be expected to be a key converter and speaker for the product, and interface with the press and C-level executives within Google and at partner companies.
  • Inspire a team of product managers, while also collaborating with cross-functional partners (e.g., cross-organizational engineers (Software and Hardware), Business Development, Marketing, etc.) in order to perfect the consumer experience.
